I cannot put into words the profound effect Stars of the Lid have had on my outlook and development as a listener and follower of the ambient genre. On a whim, I bought their 2001 release "The Tired sounds of..". As soon as this ended after the first play it was on repeat for days and once I made the discovery of the back catalogue my love for this duo was born. They are nothing short of genius in my ears and their likes will not be equalled. Sadly we lost one half of this majestic duo in the last few days and I felt I needed to make something to express how much they have meant to me. I apologise if its not too polished but time was of the essence. Thankyou Stars of the Lid and to you , Salut Mr McBride! Godspeed you fucking legend!
