This has been a work in progress for quite some time now. With sounds culled from practice sessions and noodles which then started out as a homage to a track I love by Pub called Summer ( Big up the Ampoule Crew), hence the title Sunrise. And then of course the idea of a complete flipside to this which became Night Follows. Both tracks are long form - very long form. Being that the album is called Contrasts , the intention ,where sunrise is on the whole uplifting , Night Follows treads a darker path. The truth of Night Follows is my attempt at interpreting and understanding how someone close to me struggles with sleep and their insecurities and doubts on everything which prevents them from switching off but that it does happen eventually so the track moves through stages of fear and dread until at last some semblance of peace is found or heard as the case may be .
I hope you can find the time to listen to both tracks in full , maybe not straight away but in time.
In life there is always contrast and it can be hard to strike the balance but it is good to remember that "in order for a light to shine so brightly then the darkness must be present"
